Jack Swift and his cousin Phil were signed up to do the London Triathlon in August 2020 to raise money for charity, as well as ‘tri-ing’ a new challenge in the process. Due to the current situation with COVID-19 the London Triathlon has been cancelled. However, Jack and Phil are now taking part in the Tri-Hard virtual triathlon to save all their dedicated training from going to waste!
The Tri-Hard virtual triathlon will be completed on their own, but together. In includes a 1.5 km outdoor swim, 40 km bike ride and 10 km run. Participants will take part on the same day, starting at the same time, but from their respective homes (Jack in England and Phil in Germany).
In February 2018, Jack was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer. In May 2018 he had the tumour removed along with his right kidney. Thankfully, since his surgery he has had three clear scans, and is as fit as ever! KCSN were a huge help to his family while he was going through this whole process. The advice and reassurance they received was invaluable; KCSN really helped to bridge the gap between the consultants at the hospital, and the reality of living with a kidney cancer diagnosis. For this reason, Jack and Phil will be raising funds on behalf of KCSN.
