Mark Tiller is running every day from 16th March 2020 in memory of his brother, Nigel, and to raise funds for the Kidney Cancer Support Network.
On 3rd February 2021, Nigel passed away at 62 years; a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He had been suffering from cancer for the last 3 years but he was such an inspirational, brave man throughout his illness. His family are so proud of him and he will be dearly missed.
During the COVID-19 pandemic many charities have been affected with the loss of their fundraising events.
Mark started running everyday from 16th March 2020 (a week before the first lockdown) for his sanity.
One year of running every day completed today (16 March 2021). What started just to run to keep him sane during the various lockdowns has resulted in raising funds for Kidney Cancer Support Network in memory of his brother Nigel, who passed away on 3rd February 2021.
He has run more miles that I have driven in the car!
2,531 miles and 116794 ft/22.12 miles of elevation gain
Mark has completed many challenges organised by his running club, Itchen Spitfires, ending up running 100 and 120 miles in a week last year. In all his years of running he has never run every day; he has run many epic runs but not this! The last week he found it difficult, his body is so tired!
A big thank you for everyone who has run with him, words of encouragement and who have donated to the charity. At the moment it stands at £750 plus Gift Aid of £167.50.
He has his covid vaccine tomorrow, so going to take it easy over the next few days. Hopefully he can continue to run every day.
Mark would like to dedicate this challenge for raising funds for a charity that has helped Nigel, Janet, James, Tom, Charli and Lucy throughout Nigel’s illness. That is the Kidney Cancer Support Network. Please visit Mark’s Justgiving page to make a donation.
